FieldMap is a context-aware data collection and information access tool for use in field sciences. Development concentrates on applications in archaeological field survey, but the core system is equally suited to a wide range of other field data collection requirements.
FieldMap is based on the MobiComp infrastructure.
Eventually we intend to migrate much of the FieldMap technical and user documentation to this wiki. In the meantime, for user documentation and downloads, please refer to
- the FieldMap web pages.
- Smart Environments in Cultural Heritage, a paper describing technical aspects of FieldMap and the underlying MobiComp context-aware infrastructure. Presented at Reading the Historical Spatial Information in the World, 24th International Symposium, International Center for Japanese Studies, Kyoto, Japan, February 2005.
